What do Electrical Engineers do as Instrumentation Engineer? In case of any substation fault, an Electrical Substation Engineer’s job is to detect the fault location and isolate & repair it as fast as possible so as to affect the minimum number of consumers for minimum time. Similarly, what do Electrical Engineers do in electrical power generation? They work on finding new, cheap & alternate solutions for power generation, they also design Power Generator according to the load demand, they ensure that all the parallel generators are in synchronism etc. What do Electrical Engineers do on Control side? They design control logic for any process or system and implement it using controllers like PLC, they also design Supervisory controls and Human Machine Interfaces. They mostly work in offices. They design instruments considering sensitivity, selectivity & maximum ratings, checks installed instruments to ensure their proper working & correct the faults, if any.
